The overriding purpose of the Ivy Village Tour is to prepare suitable students as much as possible for their Ivy colleges (and Ivy League feeder schools) of their choice. Not all of our students have such ambitious goals. Which is why only a small select group choses every year to enroll in the Ivy Village Campus Tour. Perhaps the greatest lesson that our students return with is that first-hand up-to-the minute college information is critical if they are going to be able write a first- rate college essay. It is this first- hand experience that had been a critical factor in enabling our students to achieve a high rate of successful Ivy college matriculations.

In addition, their accumulated social interactions with college students and faculty over two weeks are invaluable and help our students set new benchmarks for themselves that no amount of student counseling can achieve. Being present on the college campus tour and engaging with academic projects such as essay writing, language development and social interactions in a collaborative and cooperative environment is invaluable and absolutely essential to the students’ success. But in closing, the campus tour is just one vital component of the overall Ivy Village package that includes the all-important Concord Review essay (or the John Locke essay for the Ivy League feeder schools).
